Rowland Johnson, Nettitude’s Chief Executive was invited by HM Government to provide evidence to the Joint Committee on National Security Strategy. The session was televised and is viewable on the UK parliamentary website here.
The National Security Select Committee brings together 22 members, appointed from both the House of Commons and the House of Lords (including the chairs of the relevant Commons departmental select committees), to consider the National Security Strategy. See more details here.
During this 90-minute committee meeting, Rowland was called upon as an Industry expert to provide evidence about the following cyber security related areas:
- The National Cyber Security Strategy 2016-2021
- A review of Cyber as a Tier 1 risk to the United Kingdom
- A review of the current cyber threat landscape
- IoT and how it will impact the threat landscape
- Security by Design, and how it can be achieved
- A review around the effectiveness of public / private cyber security partnerships
- The role of government in improving cyber security capability
- How future cyber threats are expected to evolve, and what government and industry must do to combat them
- International collaboration in cyberspace
Rowland commented: “It was an absolute privilege to be invited by Her Majesty’s Government to provide evidence to the National Security Select Committee. Every day, Nettitude is actively involved in supporting organisations defend against and respond to cyber related attacks.
