Nettitude has today released a new Cyber Threat Intelligence report, which details the recent findings of our threat activity monitoring during Q3 2016.
The report features observations of the Metri botnet, which we have been monitoring for the last few months. The Nettitude security research team has mapped out all actions relating to Metri, with further research identifying the three bot herders that have controlled the Metri botnet.
Additionally, our researchers have found that not only has the volume of malware increased overall in this period, but malware authors are using more and more complex techniques to obfuscate their payload to avoid being detected. In the last 30 days, the team observed significant malware activity pointing towards Chinese actors.
The new report also explores intricacies of secure coding; details Nettitude’s findings from a global honeypot network and explains how careful deployment of honeypots can greatly enhance the quality of threat intelligence.
